Glenmarie Golf and Country Club
Glenmarie Golf And Country Club, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
The 18 Hole, par 72, 7014 yards golf course is a contrast to the garden course, the Valley course is regarded as a "Championship Course" with diverse species of pine trees that compliments the rolling of the hill views. With an outstanding view of the scenery and a glimpse of the iconic Blue Mosque Shah Alam, it will remind you of your experience here at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.
Notable holes on the course include the 553 yard 5th(where a creek slashes across the fairway en route to an island green), the 445-yard 8th(rated the toughest on the card, it plays a green flanked by water on the left) and the 223 yard- 17th (with a fast and tricky green benched into a small hill on the other side of a water hazard).
The 18 hole, Par 72, 7000 yards beautiful course is designed by the American golf architect, Max Wexler. The garden course is regarded as a "Resort Course" as it displays a rich array of flora, fauna and lakes. In the lush rainforest or shaded by majestic royal palms, one discovers an oasis of coconut palm with frangipani trees.
The garden course requires a lot of precision with its toughest hole being the par 4, 4th where if you slice the ball right you will be punished by the lowerbed or lake and hefty trees obstructing your second shot. A 'hook' will end up 'Out-of-Bounds' by perimeter walls straddling grand mansions on the left. The key is to place your ball on the fairway to set up for a slightly uphill shot onto a two tiered 'Green' guarded by two bunkers on the left and one on the right.
