Doonbeg Golf Club
Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland
Description :Doonbeg Golf Club officially opened in 2002, and was immediately designated as Golf Digest’s “Best New International Course.” Two-time British Open champion Greg Norman is the course architect, selected for his incomparable design skill and his “least disturbance” philosophy of routing courses to fit existing terrains.
The par-72 layout features a single loop of nine holes out and nine back, playing 6,885 yards from the back tees and the layout is totally tune with nature which enjoys a breathtaking location. The cresent-shaped Dough more Bay facing 11th Par 3 hole is the signature hole, which is one of the most sensational short holes measuring a mere 111 yards, but hitting the green is actually easy to have said than done with numerous distractions and the wind manipulating the club selection.
